In 1993, a group of local businessmen comprising Mariners and Inspectors started Saybolt’s Malaysia operations in East Malaysia – first setting up offices in Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Bintulu. Three (3) years later (1996) this same group, through a Management Buy-Out (MBO) incorporated Saytech Sabah & Sarawak to handle Saybolt’s entire operations in East Malaysia.

The incorporation witnessed the signing of an “Exclusive Agency Agreement” between Saybolt and Saytech in Sabah on 5th June 1996. As an exclusive agent, Saytech was responsible for Saybolt’s entire interests in the field of Marine Inspection, Petro Chemical and Hydrocarbon Inspection, Palm Oil and other commodity inspections and certification services.

In 1997, Saytech became independent and since then operates on it’s own.  It also covers specialize areas such as  Marine and Petrochemical Inspection Services , Environmental Services, Timber Certifications, Calibration Services and MSPO/COC consultancies.

Today with it’s current set-up, Saytech General Inspection Services Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Saytech (Sarawak) Sdn. Bhd.) is equipped and licensed to carry out Inspections and Surveying Services including Environmental Services – anywhere in Malaysia and beyond.
